About the artist

Jillian Demeri majored in Visual Arts at Bowdoin College , and studied abroad in Rome, focusing on figure drawing and print making. With continued education in silkscreen, at, The Museum School in Boston, illustration at MASS ART, and printmaking at UMASS of Dartmouth.

 

She has translated her love for printmaking, the quality of its paper and its integration with color, into watercolor with a fluid and minimal style.

 

A Native to Cape Ann, with its surrounding surf, gorgeous sky lines, sparkling coves and granite quarries, Jillian is ever appreciative of the island’s natural beauty and how it seems to attract + connect:

 

visual artists, actors+athletes, dancers + writers, poets+musicians, 

 

educators+healers, sailors + fishermen.

 

Her own family of gifted artists, and lovely friends, have encouraged her lifelong dedication to making and selling art . 

 

From 1994-2003 she ran the JDemeri Gallery in Rockport, MA, carrying on her father’s legacy there. Since then, Jillian  has worked as a freelance artist showing at~ LULA’s PANTRY in Rockport, MUZIO Design in Essex, The Studio at Labor in Vain, in Ipswich, THREE STONES gallery in Concord, MA, THE ART CAFE in Little Compton, RI;;;;;and most currently, at, The SALTED COD arthouse in East Gloucester.

 

Jillian hopes to bring a sense of joY + wonder to her viewers.
